chocolate cake with a chocolate ganache

one and only chocolate cake with a chocolate ganache, and of course fruits on top. nothing left to say, it's chocolate and its cake.


- 2 cups sugar
- 2 cups AP flour
1 1/4 cup cocoa powder (I use the Hershey's brand)
- 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1 cup milk (or buttermilk)
2 eggs whisked
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 cup hot water mixed with 1 tsp instant coffee
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract


- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
remember- the higher quality the chocolate is, the more
rich and flavorful your cake will turn out!
- 1 cup simmered heavy cream
Mix together your sugar, flour, cocoa, baking soda &
der, salt, and cinnamon until well combined

NOW add in the rest of your ingredients. You don't
want to over mix - Whisk until smooth
Add batter to 2 six-inch prepared cake pans, and bake
at 350°f for 35-40 minutes (to check if your cake is
baked fully, stick a toothpick into it. If it comes out
clean it is done
if the batter is left on the toothpick it
needs more time)
- While your cake is baking, prepare your ganache. You
can use milk chocolate,
, dark chocolate, semi-sweet
whatever your heart desires. Add your chocolate chips
to a bowl with 1 cup of simmered heavy cream. Mix until
smooth - set to the side or in the fridge
- Once your cake is baked, allow it to completely cool
then trim off the very top to give your cake a sharp
Smother your cake in your Ganache (you can also set
you cake in the fridge to cool with your ganache
smoothed on - to allow it to set a bit)
Top your cake with whatever you'd like!
